Crispus Attucks's Mother was an Indian, and his Father was Black. He was a former slave who went to sea for 20 years to escape slavery. Unfortunately, he was also the first person to die in the Boston Massacre in March of 1770.

The Republicans are all puffed up because they won a couple of Gubernatorial seats, and they are very quiet about losing the Congressional seat in upstate New York that had been occupied for years by Republicans. Who won or lost is irrelevant. We are plunging into the abyss with no hope for the employed or the unemployed. We are about to experience runaway inflation. I do not know if you noticed or not, but gold crept to an all-time high earlier this week, and no one in the news (including Fox) reported the new high for gold. Bearing this in mind, everyone out there should get a few silver coins, 1964 or before, for their sock drawer. In case there is a major economic disaster, you will have some hard currency to tide you over.
A friend of mine sent me a bumper-sticker that said, "Because everyone deserves what you worked for." People who have not worked for anything are all in favor of taking your property. If you do not have any property available, they want the government to turn on the printing presses and make a bejillion dollars in new currency to be circulated through various banks and other businesses.

On the bonus issue, there are a lot of crazed Liberals complaining about bankers and stock brokers getting millions of dollars in bonuses. My objection is that they are paying people for losing massive amounts of money. I do not mind millions of dollars in bonuses if the corporate executives have produced massive amounts of income. However, it is bizarre beyond belief if they are rewarding people who are incompetent. But that is the way it goes when you are dealing with the government.
