In Norway, a nutcase shot, killed, and blew-up about a hundred people. Those who were not shot died in an explosion that made Oslo look like a war-zone. Many who were shot were on an island. When the police were notified, they drove to the dock. They didn’t think they had time to get a helicopter ready. When they got to the dock, they couldn’t find a boat to take them to the island. In the end, more than forty minutes went by and the situation grew more critical by the moment. When they finally got to the island, the shooter gave up without a fight. He wanted to live so he could explain his bizarre view of the world, so the world would know he was justified in killing all of those people. In the book entitled The Believing Brain, the author explains that, once we decide that Republicans are right, Catholics are right, or Mohammad was right, we then make up things to support our beliefs. And so it goes with mass-murderers. They believe that what they are doing is correct, then the believing-brain starts making up information to support their beliefs. In this case, the nut that did the shooting thinks that as soon as the world pays attention to him, we will all understand why he is a mass murderer.
In the 1960's, John Batt, a Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky, wrote an article titled “The New Outlaw”. The theme of the article is correct, id est, the sociopathic personality is increasing proportionately faster than the population.
