Oscar Ortega, the fruit cake who shot up the White House said before and after the shooting that he was Jesus. He is indeed bat-shit crazy. Before we completely discount him, let us consider three of the myriad options that are on the table.

1) He doesn’t believe he is Jesus and is advancing the idea to excuse his bat-shit crazy behavior.

2) He really thinks he is Jesus. He is still bat-shit crazy.

3) He may really be Jesus and he is bat-shit crazy.

For the rest of us, the horror is he got to vote and his vote counted.

Speaking of voting: after the Civil War the 15th Amendment was passed, and citizens could no longer be excluded from the polls because of race. Some states started looking for reasons to exclude black voters, other than race, and they were very successful. However, for the moment let us pretend that the Amendment did what it was intended to do. The end result: black men and white men could vote while black women and white women could not. This caused Suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton to write, "...if you do not wish the lower order of Chinese, African, German and Irish with their low ideas of womanhood to make laws for you and your daughters ... awake to the danger ... and demand that woman too, shall be represented in the government!"

I don’t think the Irish should be allowed to vote, any time, any place, but to lump the others in with the Irish is very insulting to the other groups.
